Regional Council AGM 2021

20 February 2021 10:00am–2:30pm

Online meeting

Each year the Region holds its Annual General Meeting in February, to elect the majority of other committees in the region. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting will take place online this year.
It’s an AGM in two parts – the Democracy AGM will take place in the morning with live digital voting for all elected positions, and after lunch we will meet again for the Policy AGM, to debate and vote on motions that will shape policy for the region over the next twelve months.

You can find out more about democracy in the region and the roles of the various committees by watching this short video or downloading this leaflet.

This circular outlines the processes for Branches to register delegates, nominate members for elected positions, submit motions & rule changes, and gives all timetables and deadlines. I hope this information will be of assistance when planning and attending Branch meetings before the Regional Council AGM.

Branches need to register for the meeting using the online process. This is a two-step process, involving the completion of the online form and verifying your submission by email. You will receive an email confirmation of your submission, containing instructions on how to verify your registration.

This is a very different year, and it’s nothing short of incredible how UNISON branches have adapted to the new circumstances that we operate in. I hope that you can join us for this very different AGM in February, to ensure that our democratic structures and policies for the coming year truly reflect the challenges we have overcome, and those that are to follow in 2021.
