Regional LGBT+ AGM

11 December 2021 10:30am–12:00pm

Online meeting

Please find details of the 2021 Regional LGBT+ AGM which will take place on Saturday 11th December. Due to continuing precautions around the coronavirus we will again be meeting online.

In order to accommodate this and ensure that members in the South East have the opportunity to participate fairly and democratically, we have made some slight changes to the normal processes and timescales.

Everything you need to know, including details on registering to attend, nominating members for election, and submitting motions for debate, can be found below.

AGM DETAILS

WHEN: 10.30am–12.00pm on Saturday 11th December 2021

WHERE: The meeting will be held online using Microsoft Teams.

You will receive a link to the meeting once you have registered as either a branch delegate or a visitor.

Thanks also to everyone of you, we are grateful for your support and participation, and hope that you will continue to be involved with the SOG over the coming year. It is especially important that we fill every seat within the SOG so that we can maximise our influence throughout the region and represent our LGBT+ colleagues to the best possible effect.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

AGM ATTENDANCE
All delegates and visitors to the LGBT+ AGM 2021 must themselves be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender plus UNISON members from the South East region. Branches are invited to register up to five AGM delegates who will be able to participate in the election for contested positions and vote on key items of business.

If your branch has an established LGBT+ Self-Organised Group, they should be asked to participate in this. All LGBT+ SOG members in your branch should be given equal opportunity to put themselves forward.

Members who are not out in their branch but wish to attend the AGM as a delegate should contact the Committee Secretary directly. They will act as an intermediary between you and the branch and protect your confidentiality.

The deadline for registering your delegates is 5pm on Friday 12 November.

Additionally, any LGBT+ members who are not delegates are invited to attend the AGM as virtual visitors. The deadline for visitors registering to attend is also Friday 12 November.

All registered delegates and visitors will receive a link to the meeting and paperwork for the AGM by email on 26 November.

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
UNISON recognises that in order for our members to fully participate, it may be necessary to make some adjustments so that we can ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, that everyone has the same opportunity to take part across our structures. For more on this, please see UNISON’s guidelines for virtual meetings.

If you require any adjustments to be made to facilitate your participation in a virtual meeting, please complete the Access Passport and return to committee administrator Cath Still by 5pm on Friday 12 November 2021.

If you have previously completed an access passport and require adjustments for this meeting, please complete a new version of the passport and return it to me as soon as possible because of the differing requirements from a physical meeting compared to one being held online.
