In order to fully represent all schools sector members within the South East, we need to know what the various issues and concerns are across the region, as well as what is happening locally in terms of campaigning and organising. Obviously, it’s not practical for us to visit every branch, let alone every school, so we are investigating setting up a Regional Schools Forum, where school based members from branches across the region can meet to discuss the issues affecting school staff in their area, as well as sharing useful ideas and information on successful campaigns. This will also provide us with a better view of what is happening in the region and will enable us to feedback to the National Committee meetings. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, 28 November 2017 from 12 noon until 2pm at UNISON Centre (130 Euston Road, London NW1 2AY), and we would very much like to see as many people as possible. The focus of this first meeting will on the nature, content and organisation of the Forum and its regular meetings going forward, so it really is your opportunity to influence your union at the regional level. Lunch will be provided. We hope that you are able to attend, as the more people we have to share their experiences, expertise and support, the stronger and more effective we can be. Please confirm your attendance by registering by Friday 17 November using the form below. If you have any access needs, please contact Area Organiser Debbie Monksfield in good time ahead of the meeting.
