Riverside Festival

22 July 2017 11:00am–11:30pm

Gordon Promenade, Gravesham

THIS year’s Riverside Festival is on Saturday 22 July and it’s all set to include S Club Party, Big Brovaz and Booty Luv.

The festival, organised by Gravesham Borough Council, is the biggest summer highlight in the council’s calendar and is expected to attract more than 10,000 people to the town.

There will be lots in store for all the family throughout the day at Gordon Promenade and the adjoining Fort Gardens and it will culminate in headliners S Club Party taking to the stage.

Jo, Bradley and Tina from nineties pop band S Club Party will be entertaining crowds with some of their top 10 hits ‘Never Had a Dream Come True’, ‘Reach’, ‘Bring it all Back’ and ‘Don’t Stop Movin.’

Their set will follow MOBO award-winning RnB and hip hop group Big Brovaz and Nadia from Booty Luv. Big Brovaz will take us back to the early 2000’s with hit tracks such as ‘Nu Flow’, ‘Favourite Things’ and ‘Baby Boy’.

The fun will begin at 11am on Saturday 22 July, with performances continuing into the evening.

Local band Chaps will also be a key part of the festival. The bowtie sporting, flat cap wearing, tweed-wielding foursome have made a name for themselves from Ibiza to London. Specialising in urban, dance and pop covers with seamless transitions from one song to the next and a huge, high octane sound, The Chaps are an acoustic band like no other!

The festival, now in its fourth year in the present format, will start at 11am and run throughout the day to 7.30pm. It will also feature a traditional Summer Fayre in the Fort Gardens and the usual yummy food stalls and fairground.

As a part of the festival this year we will also have a sports green where you can try your hand at lots of different activities and meet your local sports clubs.

Acting Leader of the council, Cllr David Turner said: “It’s great that the Riverside Festival is still a key date in our diaries because it’s enjoyed by so many and has so much to offer. I really am looking forward to it. We’ve got some great acts and a little something for everyone to enjoy. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us on the day.”
