UNISON, Britain’s leading public service trade union, is looking for a temporary Area Organiser.

While this is a generic role, the main areas of work to be undertaken initially will be to support the delivery of the Regions Equality Action Plan and member learning across the Region.

You need to be an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to support our growing organisation. The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills to the role and be able to develop and deliver member training, undertake recruitment and organising initiatives and campaigns in our branches, train and develop stewards, undertake case work, advise, support and mentor branch officers and stewards in representation and negotiation.

You will have excellent presentation and communication skills, both face-to-face and on paper and the ability to deliver training.

A sound understanding of trade unions and their objectives, in particular on equalities is essential along with a good understanding of UNISON’s policies and objectives.

The post is based in the Brighton office. The post holder will be required to travel and work across the South East Region.
