Tell your colleagues why you Heart UNISON

Heart UNISON is UNISON’s contribution to the Trade Union Congress’ Heart Unions event. It’s become a yearly tradition that trade unionists across the country – including members of your UNION branch – take the opportunity to talk to their colleagues about the benefits of being part of a trade union, what we do and our achievements throughout the previous year.

Running alongside Heart Unions, Heart UNISON always takes part in the week in which Valentine’s Day falls. In 2020… That’s this week, 10 – 16 February!

As the TUC explain:

Heart Unions is a week of activity throughout England and Wales that highlights the good work that unions do every day to offer everyone a voice at work. It’s a chance to tell the story about why unions are vital for everyone at work, and encourage people who aren’t yet in a union to join. Every year it’s a chance for reps and activists to publicise what they’ve been doing and make the case for union membership.

Keep an eye out for what your branch is doing this week or ask your UNISON rep for more information about what your union has been working on where you are. And remember – if you aren’t a member of the UK’s largest trade union, this week is a great time to join!
