Demand Driven Courses

As part of our Life Long Learning initiatives and in connection with the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), UNISON South East is offering to members the following fully funded one day workshops.

Power to be You: confidence building
Would you like to feel more confident or assertive? This workshop will help you improve your self-esteem and help you to speak up with confidence. It will give you ideas and tips on speaking in a group or at meetings.

Your Skills, Your Future
If you are feeling that you want to apply for another job or change the direction of what you do within your workplace, or you may want to go for a promotion but don’t feel you have the necessary skills, this workshop could be for you. ‘Your Skills, Your Future’ will help identify and explore the skills you have gained both at work and in your private life – you may be surprised at how skilled you already are!

Get That Job
Whether you are seeking a new career, or changes in the workplace have made you re-evaluate your position, then this workshop will help you in the job application process. The workshop has been developed to look at your feelings about applying for jobs, your existing levels of confidence in relation to work, and evaluating your strengths and skills. The workshop also focuses on the job application process, application forms and how to sell your skills.

Making the Most of the Internet
Do you have some experience of using a computer but would like some tips to make the most of the internet? Session one covers searching the internet, favourites and email attachments. Session two includes tips for staying safe online, computer spring cleaning and using the internet to save money.

Workshops last four to five hours and can potentially be delivered anywhere in the South East Region for UNISON members.

The courses are organised subject to demand. If you would like to attend one of these courses then please contact Suzanne Tipping at s.tipping@unison.co.uk to be added to a waiting list. Once there are sufficient numbers to run a course we will be in touch. You can also speak to your local branch, or UNISON Organiser about a course being organised locally for you and your colleagues.
