UNISON South East supports branches, service groups and self organised groups across the region to deliver priority campaigns and activity.
Central to our campaigning activity is that our activity is member led and driven. In the South East members are elected annually to our Publicity and Campaigning Committee which overseas a number of campaign funding streams that branches, service groups and self organised groups can access to deliver their campaigning objectives.
Branches, services groups and self organised groups can view and download the required forms and information regarding access to the Regional Pool and the Regional Outreach Fund from the ‘Resources’ section below.
Regional Pool funding applications should be made in the context of the branch’s Organising Framework and Action Plan and meet UNISON’s branch development and organisation objectives. Examples of the types of things that can be applied for include:
- Recruitment materials and incentive schemes
- Campaign materials
- Stalls at events
- Temporary staff to carry out recruitment campaigns
- Publicity materials
The Publicity & Campaigning Committee considers all bids over £1,000 at its scheduled quarterly meetings, which in 2021 are on 30 March, 3 June, 9 September and 2 December.
The deadline for the receipt of bids over £1,000 is one month before each Committee meeting, which in 2021 will be 2 March, 6 May, 12 August and 4 November.
For bids of up to £1,000 there is no deadline; bids are considered by email between Committee meetings.
The Regional Outreach Fund provides financial assistance to branches to arrange membership participation and attendance at national regional and local events; for example helping to fund transport, including the cost of hiring a coach.
The Publicity and Campaigning Committee also consider bids to the National Campaign Fund (previously the General Political Fund). Full details and an application form are available on the national UNISON website.
