About this job

This role will be working for Western Sussex Hospitals UNISON branch and Central Sussex Hospitals UNISON branch. The branches cover hospitals and the Clinical Commissioning Groups across Sussex so there will be travel to different locations.

The NHS has high levels of activity with representation and restructures so the role needs considerable experience managing casework and dealing with restructures in the NHS. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the unions equality standards are applied in all work. There will be recruitment activities to organise and deliver. The key role will involve working with local stewards to mentor and build skills and recruit stewards and activists in all workplaces.

Would suit a highly motivated individual with great communication skills and the ability to utilise own initiative and work flexibly.  A working knowledge of trade unions and their objectives is essential.
