Training our nurses and midwives – your views needed!

Views needed on training for nurses and midwives

The Nursing & Midwifery Council is seeking views on how nurses and midwives are trained.

This is a good opportunity for UNISON members in nursing and midwifery roles to get your views heard on pre-registration education and training in your profession. Your opinions really count, whether you’re a registered nurse or midwife already, or a student working to become one.

We’ve created a simple and anonymous survey to help capture your thoughts on things like:

  • Programme structure and length
  • Learning in clinical practice
  • Simulation to support learning
  • Readiness to practice

It will take less than 10 minutes and you’ll be helping UNISON develop a carefully thought through position ready for when we have further discussions with the NMC.

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers – it is your views and experiences that matter to us.

As well as getting a range of views, we’d love to have a more detailed discussion with some members about this. We’re holding a meeting on Tuesday 6 July, 3pm – 4.30pm. You can sign up using this form and we’ll email you the Zoom link closer to the time:

We look forward to seeing you there!
