The Organising Steward . Face-To-Face in Taunton. The course aims to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence to enable you to carry out the role of a steward in UNISON.
ETD plans our activist education programme and is responsible for overseeing member recruitment, organising and branch democracy and governance.
We look forward to welcoming you to the first (slightly delayed) UNISON South East BIG Weekend, taking place at the Hilton at Ageas Bowl in Southampton*. The BIG Weekend combines three large regional events to create the biggest gathering of South East activists outside of National Delegate Conference!

This course is aimed at both newly elected stewards and experienced activists/officers. It introduces the principle of mentoring as a means of support for new stewards.
This Course is aimed at new and previously untrained Health and Safety Representatives.
This is a one-day course aimed at helping stewards communicate effectively with members from an organising perspective. It provides an opportunity to develop skills in a variety of communication methods including starting conversations, managing discussions, listening to members’ views, and using emails and other media.
This course is aimed at all reps, stewards and branch officers who want to feel more confident speaking in public and crafting effective speeches, whether at conferences, rallies, or branch meetings.
This course is for Branch Treasurers for use of OLBA ( Online Branch Accounting) Module 3. Please note that modules 1-2 (e-notes) must be completed before attending module 3. Each module takes around 3 hours to deliver.
