Learn more to help understand the impact of sexual harassment and how to support and represent members.
This half-day online workshop will introduce activists to the concept of Disability Passports and how they can help people with disabilities in the workplace.
This course is aimed at all reps looking to gain more knowledge on how disability law works, and how we can challenge disability discrimination in the workplace.
This course is aimed at Branch Women’s Officers and women Stewards who would like to be more familiar with equality legislation, the legal forms of Sex Discrimination and be confident to support and advise members.
This course will cover the impact of the menopause on women in the workplace, what employers should do to be more aware of the needs of women going through the menopause, practical actions that employers should take and what UNISON can do to represent women on this issue and campaign for better workplaces.
UNISON recognises that everyone has an equal right to protection from harm at work, but that doesn’t mean treating everyone as if they were all the same. For example, jobs that people do, their working conditions and how they are treated by society are not always the same. The course will provide an opportunity to examine workplace policies including the application of workplace sickness absence policies and capability procedures which might be penalising women members more harshly for short term absences for e.g., problems related to menstrual such as fibroids, endometriosis, or the menopause.
This workshop, developed in conjunction with our regional LGBT+ Self-Organised Group, and will look at UNISON’s policies and how to be a trans ally.
