A massive thank you to the Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser for organising a fundraiser for our vital front line healthcare workers in the Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester Hospitals branch.
Members of the public have been donating to provide support to NHS staff who are working night and day through the Covid-19 crisis.
That’s why we’re so proud of our members working in the NHS right now.
UNISON South East regional secretary Steve Torrance said:
“Whether they are NHS and emergency services staff working directly with patients, or cleaners, caterers and carers keeping our hospitals safe, all these people provide vital support to our communities in this crisis – our members are public service champions and we want to say thank you.
“UNISON is working hard to continue to provide the support our members need in unprecedented times – whether that’s support and guidance on workplace issues around coronavirus, supporting individual members in workplaces across the UK or helping out with welfare concerns.
“It’s amazing to see the support from the community for this work and the appreciation for essential NHS workers, and their union. Thank you to everyone who supports the Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser campaign.”
If you have any stories about either the great work our members are doing in public services during the Covid-19 crisis or fantastic ways the local community is coming together near you, then we’d love to hear from you.
