Where: UNISON Centre, 130 Euston Road, London NW1 2AY

AGM ATTENDENCE
All delegates and visitors to the LGBT+ AGM 2023 must themselves be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender plus UNISON members from the South East region.

Branches are invited to  register up to five AGM delegates  who will be able to participate in the election for contested positions and vote on key items of business.

If your branch has an established LGBT+ Self-Organised Group, they should be asked to participate in this. All LGBT+ SOG members in your branch should be given equal opportunity to put themselves forward.

Members who are not out in their branch but wish to attend the AGM as a delegate should contact Clare Boorman directly.  Clare will act as an intermediary between you and the branch and protect your confidentiality.

The deadline for registering your delegates and visitors is 5pm on Friday 6 October 2023.

Additionally, any LGBT+ members who are not delegates are invited to attend the AGM as visitors. The deadline for visitors registering is also Friday 6 October 2023.

ELECTIONS
Branches and individual LGBT+ SOG members will be invited to submit nominations to the Regional LGBT+ committee as well as various internal and external bodies, which will be elected at the AGM.

If you would like to nominate to any of these roles, candidates must be nominated by their branch or by at least one LGBT+ SOG member. All nominees must themselves be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender plus UNISON members from the South East region.

You can find more information about the various elected posts and committees on our regional website or email Clare Boorman with any questions you have.

Candidates will be asked to submit an election address of up to 500 words.

The deadline for nominations and for election addresses to be received is 5pm on Friday 6 October 2023.

For any contested posts, all registered delegates will receive voting papers in advance of the AGM. The ballot will close before the meeting.

The results of any ballots and any uncontested posts will then have their elections ratified at the AGM.

MOTIONS AND RULE CHANGES
Branches and individual LGBT+ SOG members will be invited to submit motions and rule changes to the current Regional SOG Committee Constitution.

The deadline for motions and rule changes to be received is 5pm on Friday 6 October 2023.

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
UNISON recognises that in order for our members to fully participate, it may be necessary to make some adjustments so that we can ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, that everyone has the same opportunity to take part across our structures.

If you require any adjustments to be made to facilitate your participation in this meeting, please complete the Access Passport and return to committee administrator Chantelle Brown by 5pm on Friday 20 October 2023.

If you have previously completed an access passport and require adjustments for this meeting, please complete a new version of the passport and return it as soon as possible because of the differing requirements from a physical meeting compared to one being held online.
