The South East Labour Link Committee is elected each year in March, at the Regional Forum. Committee members are UNISON members who are also members of the Labour Party.
The committee agrees priorities to support the Labour party in local and national elections, and to ensure that UNISON policy is taken into the Labour party at all levels. The committee also elects to external committees with other affiliated unions and sends a delegation to the Labour Party conference.
The committee meets quarterly and all Labour Link officers are invited as observers. Frequent guest speakers include Labour MPs and candidates from across the region.
A significant number of UNISON members opt to pay into UNISON’s Labour Link political fund, which directly supports the Labour Party.
