Regional Retired Members AGM

The 2023 Regional Retired Members AGM will take place in person on Monday 4 December 2023 at UNISON Centre in London from 11am to 12.30pm.

Paperwork will be sent to all registered delegates two weeks prior to the meeting.

AGM ATTENDANCE
All delegates to the Retired Members AGM 2023 must themselves be retired UNISON members from the South East region.

Branches are invited to register up to five AGM delegates who will be able to vote on key items of business. Branches are also able to register members as visitors to the AGM.

If your branch has an established Retired members’ section, they should be asked to participate in the AGM. All Retired members in your branch should be given equal opportunity to put themselves forward.

The deadline for registering your delegates and visitors is 5pm on Monday 13 November 2023.

All registered delegates and visitors will paperwork for the AGM two weeks before the event.

ELECTIONS
Branches are invited to submit nominations to the Regional Retired Members committee which will be elected ahead of the AGM.

If you would like to nominate to any of these seats, candidates must be nominated by their branch. All nominees must themselves be retired UNISON members from the South East region.

To support their nomination, candidates may submit an election address of up to 200 words.

The deadline for nominations and for election addresses to be received is 5pm on Monday 13 November 2023.

For any contested posts, branches with retired member sections will receive voting papers in advance of the AGM. The ballot will close before the meeting.

The results of any ballots and any uncontested posts will then have their elections ratified at the AGM.

MOTIONS AND RULE CHANGES
Branches are invited to submit motions and rule changes to the current Regional Retired Members Committee Constitution.

The deadline for motions and rule changes to be received is 5pm on Monday 13 November 2023.

UNISON recognises that in order for our members to fully participate, it may be necessary to make some adjustments so that we can ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, that everyone has the same opportunity to take part across our structures.
