East Surrey Hospital- Car Parking Charges

UNISON believes introducing the increase in charges with such a short notice period does not give members and staff ample time to prepare for such a rise.

As many of you are now aware, the trust decided to increase staff car parking charges at the end of January 2017.

UNISON believes that the charge should not be introduced (if at all) until the new financial year in April. This has not been accepted and as such we are consulting your views on this before we consider what to do next.

Many UNISON members have been in touch to express their feelings about the recent announcement that car parking charges are to increase by 25% (25p a day).

We have prepared a short survey for branch members to express your views about this issue – which you would have received via email.

If for any reason you did not receive this email, please use the above link to complete the survey. Please note this survey closes on Friday 24th February 2017.

How can you get involved?

UNISON is the largest union for health workers in the trust and in the NHS as a whole, in numbers that far exceed any other. What we can achieve however is limited unless more members like you come forward and help us build the branch you want to see. Every little helps and by becoming more involved in UNISON you can make a difference to our members and colleagues alike.
In addition your UNISON local organisers can help you develop as an active member by:

  • Offering to mentor all members that come forward and become a UNISON rep with a support programme
  • Negotiate paid release to attend training courses.

Trust HR have indicated that they support members attending UNISON training courses. If you would like to meet up and talk about this further, please contact Amrik Natt, theLocal Organiser for SASH Branch
