Join us for the SE Equality conference!

You are invited to the UNISON South East Equality Conference which will help to equip your branch with the tools and resources to raise awareness of equality issues in the workplace.

Following the success of last year’s event we are delighted to be able to invite you back to London for the SE Equality Conference 2023, which will take place on Friday 13 October at UNISON Centre.

The day will include a mixture of guest speakers and workshops, as as well as a panel Q&A session.  We’re really looking forward to getting together again so please book your place now as spaces are limited!

These will be 2-hour sessions including a comfort break.  All attendees will complete both workshops on the day.

It’s about race

The overall aim of the course is to educate individuals in organisations giving them a better, in-depth understanding of various forms of racism, as well as racial bias and the issues affecting the black community in the context of the current climate and black history. The course has a focus on the topics of anti-racism and white privilege and looks to assist organisations in making practical and structural changes that contributes to a positive impact in the fight against racism and racial inequality.

How to be a Good Trans Ally (and preparing for Year of the LGBT+ Worker)

Delivered by Michael Etheridge

This workshop aims to identify the role of a trans ally and why it’s needed.  Activists will explore UNISON’s definition of transgender, how to be a good trans ally, and be shown where to access resources and support.
