Women make great Health and Safety Reps

Women make great Health and Safety Reps!

There has been an increased interest in Health & Safety, and UNISON South East have recruited and are training 70 new Health & Safety Reps to work with employers and their local branch to make work safer for all our members. Reps in most workplaces will receive full paid time off to attend training even if it is online.

Health & Safety isn’t all about slips, trips, and asbestos. It’s also about mental health and wellbeing. We want more women to become active in UNISON and being a H&S rep gives you legal protection as well as paid time off to consult with workers, and to carry out trade union duties such as assessing threats to wellbeing. If you are interested in becoming a Health & Safety Rep contact your Branch Secretary or educationse@unison.co.uk.

-UNISON is the UK’s largest union, with more than 1.3 million members providing public services in education, local government, the NHS, police service and energy. They are employed in the public, voluntary and private sectors.
